New Circle Journal

I bid my newly made Circle Journal good-bye yesterday & sent it on its way...I'm hoping to get it back before Christmas full of beautiful pages. I am lucky to be part of the new Circle Journal group over on Quirky Crafts forum.

I've used a sheet of patterned paper for my cover & I'll be blowed! if I can remember whose it is! sorry! I used Doodlebug alpha stickers for the title & a lovely clock stamp from Crafty Individuals.

My pages! I love doodling! & collage & er.... went a bit mad! lol... but I love it! I nicked my title from a very dear friend/crafter Janice. Well, Janice did say I definately was a serial crafter further down my blog so I know she won't mind! Thanks Janice.xx I feel honoured! My first Design Team card!

I was so excited to be asked to join the Design Team over on the newly formed Quirky Crafts forum & I am delighted to share with you my 1st card as a team member.

This weeks card challenge theme is red/green.

My 1st Design Team card...

I've used more delicious papers from my Bubbly Funk page kit as per the card in my last post & also a lovely digi image from the Cute Daisy May range.

I had great fun using my latest Copic markers from Lynne at the Craft Den. Even tho I say so myself I was really pleased with how my colouring turned out! apart from her .................... ??? !!!

Would you like to know a secret??? or can you guess!lol.

Her hair turned out a real disaster! my 1st attempt at dark hair. It was awful to say the least but I really did love her legs!! I carried on regardless & assembled my card. My family agreed with me in that I should start again! My daughter offered to try & digitally alter her hair for me but even that was a disaster. So there was only one thing left to try!!!

Ooh I'm too embarrassed to tell you what I did! now can you guess! I actually think my card turned out okay even tho I can't come out with the words.

Thanks for looking & what an eventful 1st DT card. Perhaps, I shouldn't be telling you all this!!

It would be lovely if you could join us on the new crafty forum there is lots going on & great to come & visit your blogs.

Have a great week. Gez.xx

Cute Daisy May challenge

This weeks theme on Cute Daisy May's challenge blog is all about animals. I've been wanting to play all week. I made a card for last weeks challenge but unfortunately when I took photographs last Sunday evening they all came out too dark & didn't get to enter in time. It's my own fault! I'm just scraping in again this week at well nearly the last minute!

I've used one of the gorgeous Cute Daisy May digi images & the new papers from Bubbly Funk's latest page kit. I wanted to keep this card plain simple & not over fuss but it was so hard not to add some embellishments. I do still think it needs a little something along the ribbon! but I didn't want to detract from the image or sentiment. Its to go with the note pad I blogged below. :-)

I had great fun using some new Copic pens I received in the post yesterday & would like to say a BIG Thank You to Lynne for her excellent service & for supporting me along the way. This lady is a star. XXXX

(Little note for Lynne.... this isn't the little girl with the secret!!! sshhh! ;-) )

Great challenge. Thanks for looking. Gez.xx

Tuesday Taggers

This weeks challenge over on Tuesday Taggers challenge blog is Stamp It...

I've made a little note book for a friend who is having a difficult time at the moment & thought it might cheer her up! Both stamps are from Crafty Individuals.

Thanks for looking. Gez.xx

Oooh I had so much fun making this twinchie!! I was inspired to chose memories for my theme this week by a collection of little stamps I've picked up by Inkadinkado which made me stop & think about what is important right now! I used a clock stamp from Crafty Individuals as I am very aware of time ticking away when there are lots of things I want to do. It's just finding the time!!

Hat

A covering for ones head, show us a hat in your space.

I've just made a snowy Christmas card so carrying on in that theme.....no sun hats or sand. Its my baby in the snow & ice!! trying to fill his bucket. What would it be called then if its not going to be a sandcastle?

.....close up of what Tom is trying to collect
hailstones!

Could actually do with a handful of these in certain places right now!

Thanks for looking. Gez.xx

(This is the photo that came to mind when I thought of hats! or is that dirty faces!!!) I wasn't going to add this one but I have changed my mind & added it & another!. It was a 'spur' of the moment photo hence the chocolately grin!

hat

......what Mum???!

Thanks for looking...xx

Winter Wonderland

This weeks theme over on the new Winter Wonderland challenge blog is ............ Let It Snow!!! We want to see snow all over blogland!

I am really cross I missed last weeks challenge. My mojo went walkies but I nearly made a card the same time I made one for this weeks challenge! I came up with lots of ideas for last week while making this one. Thats me! full of after thought!

I have used October Afternoon paper .... my favourite of all time! I have however not got ink on the band. The paper is actually distressed like that! I was going to put my image over the top but she wanted to be at the other side!

I coloured my Tilda image with Copic pens & gently embossed around the edges of my card with gold to give it a little sparkle.

Off to write down my idea for last weeks challenge before I forget!.

Have a great week. Thanks for looking. Gez.xx

InchybyInch Challenge

This weeks challenge over on InchybyInch challenge blog is.....

Owls.....

My mojo is back!! & so I came up with this little idea for an inchy. I stamped my owl image onto shrink plastic (closed my eyes!!!) & did the business... My background is another little experiment on glossy paper & a piece of twig from outside. The twig was the hardest work! 1st one was too long so I cut it & lost the bit I wanted! the 2nd was the wrong colour so it was 3rd time lucky.

My 2nd photo includes an ink pad so you can get the idea of size.

Hope you like my inchy. Thanks for looking. I can tell you there is lots of time to join the challenge this week. Gez.xx

Pink & Green, Blue & Green + Sketch Challenge card!

I don't normally combine challenges but these are two challenge blogs that I love to follow & it just sort of happened!!!

Today, sees a new challenge set tonight over on the lovely Rosie~Dee's challenge blog & I am just in time to try out Dee's great sketch & this weeks colour scheme green & blue.

I am sorry for being a last minute minnie with both challenges but I have been thinking about them all week! My mojo has been walkies with my toddler I think!! hehe

Here is my card......

The papers are a mixture of allsorts! & Copic markers for colouring. Thanks for looking. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Gez.xx

Alphabet Challenge

Yipee! I'm fairly early with this challenge!! not my usual last minute entry! This week we welcome the letter.....L.
love.....

My usual theme of twinchie as I am hoping to mount all 26 onto a canvas. I've taken a photo of all the alphabet twinchies I have made so far..... nearly half way woo hoo!! if I get to the end I will be sooooo pleased.

I decided to use love as my theme for L & of course my children came straight to mind. There is also another very subtle 'love' on my twinchie ~ any guesses? After I had made my 'love' twinchie I remembered our latch hook cushion I am making with one of my sons! I could have cut a corner off & made a sampler for my twinchie ~ arrh! I'm always the after thought girl!!!!

the story so far!.......

a couple of photos of 'another' project on the go! ....

.....latch hook cushion

I can't remember how old Ben was when we started making our random cushion! Hope we finish it before he's grown up!

Move over Janice another serial crafter here!!

Thanks for looking. Gez.xx

Birthday cards

I've taken my birthday cards down today :( It's been so bright & colourful all week in my house. Wish I could leave them up another week. I have been very lucky to receive so many beautiful hand~made cards from some very special crafting friends from the Bubbly Funk forum. I will be keeping these in my very special keepsake box.

Soooooo much loveliness. Thank You Everyone. XXX

InchybyInch Challenge

The challenge this week is POSTAGE STAMPS!

I've made a couple of inchies this week & couldn't decide which to blog so I blogged them both! The images are by Crafty Individuals. Various dye ink pads & clear embossing powder.

On the 2nd inchy I stamped a crackle background & then stamped my image over the top. I mustn't have allowed enough time for the background to dry because the clear embossing powder stuck to that as well & now it actually looks like its on top of my image not planned! but I do like the colours on the stamp image so thats why I blogged it!

Unfortunately, I wasn't around to have a go at last weeks challenge but when I was looking for stamps today I came across this one in my son's swap box! & he let me have it for free!!!

shells

The background is actual real sand out of my children's sand pit!

I've grouped them altogether in my last photo with my international craft gauge!!

I've had so much fun making these inchies. A new challenge will be posted on the InchybyInch challenge blog Monday next week. Thanks for looking Gez.xx

Something Completely Different

This is our 2nd week of tags over on the Something Completely Different challenge blog. I not only got to choose the topic but I also did my 1st write-up! to introduce this weeks challenge. :-D

What can I say! This weeks challenge is still tags & the topic is 'hearts' There are lots of beautiful heart stamps & embellishments around at the moment. I love to use hearts where ever I can in my scrapsbooks. I hope you will join us this week & take up the challenge.

My tag started off plain white & I used my favourite background technique of the moment which is alcohol inks & shaving foam see my technique here.

I stamped various heart stamps with a dye ink pad & edged my tag with Cosmic Shimmer powder & a special glue stick which allows you to set with a heat gun. (This was my 1st attempt & I'm not sure I like the effect!) perhaps I shouldn't be telling you that!lol.

The chippie word love is by Maya Road & again special glue stick & embossing powder. The other elements are a circle tag which is stamped & inked & a little butterfly stamped & cut out & layered on top of one already on the tag. The butterfly is dusted in fine glitter gel pen but I'm not sure the photo as picked it up! What a lot of rambling!!

It would be lovely if you could join us this week & then we can hop over to your blog & admire your creations. We have a special Guest Designer with us this month so I am really looking forward to seeing what yummy treat Kath has in store for us. :-)

Hope you have a lovely weekend. Best wishes. Gez.xx

Alphabet Challenge Blog

This weeks letter is something beginning with..........k

.................... knitting!

I am sticking to my twinchie theme & will take a photo of them all so far when I make the next one - tomorrow!! lol! Its finding where I've put them all!!!

I love to knit. I have had so much pleasure knitting over the years. I taught myself at 16! & have never looked back. I've made man jumpers, ladies cardigans, a school jumper! scarves oh I could go on!! I love cable patterns best as I do like a good old challenge. I have been so lucky to knit for my 3 altho it doesn't seem 'cool' now when they get past toddler stage to wear something knitted! Its amazing to see the rival knitting is having at the moment & the new unusual yarns are really tempting! I've got a red blanket on the go at the moment for my little one. He likes a character out of a book that has one! I once knit an eeyore from scratch for my daughter! that was fun! I remember making his mane out of black loops oh I'm waffling!!

Hope you like my little twinchie. Thanks for looking. Gez.
